WhiteHouse stated that TikTok could be restricting in Weeks not in Months whereas the US has already hinted its ban.
The US has hinted at the TikTok already for the ban. The popular social video app which is owned by Chinese internet company ByteDance, TikTok is on highlights as White House has hinted taking action against it. A week ago, Mike Pompeo, the Secretary of State said that Trump administration started certainly looking at banning TikTok. Now, Mark Meadows, Trump’s head of staff says that an action to move could be taken within weeks rather than in months.
Reporters traveling from Atlanta on Air Force On met Meadows where he stated that various organization authorities are looking at the national security risk that relates to WeChat, TikTok, and other different applications which are having the national security exposure potential, Specifically, when the foreign adversary is associating to information gathering of the American citizens. Meadows further said, “I don’t think there’s any self-imposed deadline for action, but I think we are looking at weeks, not months.”
Although TikTok does not accept that it is a security risk, It also denies that the app has taken measures to separate itself from Douyin which is also the Chinese application version. Then after complaints, TikTok appointed ex-Disney exec Kevin Meyer as a new CEO of the company where it pulled out of Hong Kong last week. It was done after the district received another national security law. Then the further capacity and power were given to the central Chinese government.
The company stated in response to Pompeo’s comments that an American CEO, derived the TikTok, with several employees and key leaders across security, product, safety, and public policy here in the US. further, the company comments that they have no higher need than advancing a protected and secure application experience for their users and they have never given client information to the Chinese government, nor would we do as such if asked.
